stunning natural floral tributes for funerals and other occasions
funeral floristry
designed by Katie
celebrating life naturally
My funeral floristry creations are natural, seasonal, abundant and wild as inspired by Nature.
I will always include locally harvested gatherings, with accents of a dash of colour, if that is desired, or seasonal blooms to symbolise the person who has recently passed away. I will always use masses of foliage such as laurel, eucalyptus, bay plus seasonal foliage like oak, beech and viburnum.
WOODLAND WANDERINGS AND HEDGEROW HARVESTING
Many have been local people deeply involved with agriculture or have adored walking in the woods and countryside that surrounds us here in Norfolk.
So I often suggest it's really special to gather blossoms and greenery from a favourite walk, or a particular stretch of river bank to add to the tribute.
POETRY AND MEMORIES - optional
I was asked to read a poem that had been written about their loved one by a dear family friend.
Once I have finished creating the tribute I film myself reading the poem whilst focusing on the beautiful floral tribute.
This mini film has often been played by the family to loved ones who were unable to attend the funeral either at the time of the burial or cremation or just ‘In Memory’ during the day.
This is purely optional, but I wanted to include it in my offering as it was very gratefully received particularly by the friends and family who were on the other side of the world - watching via an online link or live video streaming. I then email the video via WiTransfer.
One weeks advance notice would be appreciated so that I can gather as close to the Funeral date as possible.
GATHERINGS FROM THE GARDEN
Another really lovely option is those loved ones who had a real love of nature with their Garden. This has inspired me to suggest that I come to their home and gather a few blooms to add to the arrangement.
To walk in their treasured oasis of green with members of the family is a further chance for stories to be told and memories to be shared.
It is this holistic and bespoke offering that has helped so many loved ones, left behind come, help to come to terms with their deep loss.
I have greatly enjoyed listening to the very moving stories which have been so important in painting a vivid picture for me to interpret into the Floral Tribute to celebrate their life...naturally…
Sadly I can only offer this bespoke Floral Tribute service to my local clients of Kings Lynn, Downham Market, Swaffham and surrounding areas.
If you would like me to create a bespoke, natural, seasonal floral tribute, then do contact me for a chat and I would love to help you celebrate your loved ones life with Nature's Abundance.
