Wreath Workshop

Katie from Wild Oak Workshops warmly welcomes you to a magical Christmas Wreath Workshop in the beautiful setting of Ely Cathedral. This year your workshop will be located in the heart of the Lady Chapel, a very special place indeed.

We are so blessed to have been allowed to enjoy this exclusive space so that we can create gorgeous Christmas Wreaths together. 

A three hour relaxed workshop using armfuls of locally harvested spruce, pine cones foraged from the forest floor, hedgerow teasels, berried ivy, Eucalyptus, deliciously scented cinnamon sticks and kiln dried lime slices. All weaved on to a natural willow wreath base and nestled amongst lichen and moss to create a natural wild look to your wreath. As always there will be a gorgeous selection of ribbons to choose how you wish to hang your beautiful Wreath on your front door.

All the ingredients you need will be laid out ready for you and Katie will be on hand to  ensure that you make a gorgeous Christmas wreath.  

Katie looks forward to sharing her love of nature and knowledge about this gentle Season. The heavenly scent of nature's gifts at this special time of year will truly be sensational.

And it goes without saying that warming mulled wine and locally made mince pies, tea or coffee will all be included in your ticket. A warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere will be waiting for you whether you come solo or with friends or family. The perfect way to start your Christmas preparations!

No previous floristry skills are required!

Christmas festive jumpers and sparkles are to be encouraged!!!

PARKING

Car parking (free of charge in the city centre) is available in and around Ely, with most of the car parks a 5 or 10 minute walk from the Cathedral. Barton Road Car Park, Forehill Car Park and Ship Lane Car Park all offer free, all day parking after 8.30am.

DIRECTIONS TO THE Lady Chapel - THE HIGH ALTER

Please walk up the main aisle and bare left at the Octagon center altar.  
Do arrive earlier to really enjoy the splendour of this magnificent building. 

Follow signs to The Lady Chapel to your left.

FURTHER INFO

Please bring a warm coat as there is only under floor heating.
Please bring prickle-proof gloves as we will be working with spiky teasels.
The ladies loo is near the Lady Chapel.
